“When dusk begins to glow… even Lahore turns pale when Goddess Ragne begins her thunder…” — such powerful and soulful poems in the Wanhadi dialect were presented in the concluding poetry session of the Wanhadi Boli Jagar Sahitya Sammelan, organized by the Youth Wing of the Vidarbha Sahayog Mitra Mandal. Dr. Tejrao More offered an in-depth analysis of the literary heritage of the Wanhadi dialect. Poems by Meenakshi Dhawre, Ananta Khedkar, Lakhum Shelokar, and others enriched the atmosphere. Poet Kailas More’s poem paid emotional tribute to soldiers guarding the Pakistan border. Other poets beautifully portrayed rural life, cultural traditions, beliefs and superstitions, nature, relationships, and various aspects of community life through their verses.
