The Varhadi dialect is the mother of Marathi.

Dr. Bag stated during the inauguration of the Vanhadi Boli Jagar Literature Conference that the Varhadi dialect is like the mother of the Marathi language and needs collective efforts for its preservation and promotion. Highlighting the importance of the Vanhadi dialect as one of the sub-dialects of Marathi, he said that it carries a rich heritage of culture, traditions, and history. Distinguished speakers at the conference presented detailed insights on the linguistic features of the Vanhadi dialect, the challenges faced in preserving it, and its relevance in the modern era.
